Scottish Rite - Valley of Peoria

Foundation

Our Cathedral at 400 NE Perry Ave. is the sole remaining Masonic Landmark in Peoria's central city and it is the goal of the Scottish Rite Freemasons Foundation to preserve it for future generations of Masons and non-Masons alike.

The Foundation was established in 1999 with Internal Revenue Service approval as a 501(c)3 charitable tax-exempt entity permitted to seek tax-deductible donations to be placed in trust for the purpose of preserving and maintaining our historic Scottish Rite Cathedral. Funds from this trust can only be used for preserving and maintaining the building and cannot be utilized for day to day operations.

In order to more rapidly acquire the capital needed to fund this trust, the foundation's Board of Directors established the "Hall of Fame" to recognize individuals who pledge or contribute $5000 or more. The names of all Hall of Fame members are displayed on a plaque in the lobby of the cathedral.

I would like to extend my personal invitation for you join those of us who are Hall of Fame members. With your help, we can preserve our beautiful Scottish Rite Cathedral as a symbol of Freemasonry in Peoria for many years to come. Any donation, large or small, is always appreciated.
Fraternally yours,
Ill. Bro. Jack B. Hall, 33°
Hall of Fame Chairman

FOUNDATION NEWS  2000 -  2009 SUMMARY

Ill. Bro. Thomas L. Yingling, 33°, has prepared the following report showing the first monetary assistance given to the “Valley of Peoria”, to preserve and maintain our “Historical Scottish Rite Cathedral”.

The Officers and Directors and the Board of Directors of the Foundation, are very proud and honored to be a part of this major achievement in helping our Valley to endure.

Charter members who contributed $100.00 to get the Foundation started, monetarily shall never be forgotten. Their names are displayed in the Conference Room.

The “Hall of Fame” members are displayed on the “Hall of Fame” plaque in the foyer of the Cathedral. We now have our forty members who have contributed $5,000.00 to become a member of our “Hall of Fame”. The goal from the beginning was to get at least 50 members. We are now less than 10 members short of our “Goal”.
